please can anyone tell me whether we can go through immigration in KL ,from Aust, as a connecting flight to China doesn't depart for another 8 hrs.
Unsure if this is pos or do we have to stay intransit:?:

Its been a while but from memory KL has the same arrangement as SIN, that is arrivals and departures mix freely so no need to even go a to a transfer point, you may need to go to a transit desk to get a BP if one has not been issued. So long as you have a passport that allows for a visa on arrival it should not be an issue.

Which airlines are involved?

If Air Asia is involved, you will have no choice but to go through immigration.

If it is Malaysian, I would have thought it was ok - as long as you have your onward boarding pass before you leave (so you can get back in).

It will depend on your nationality. Do you meet the requirements for entry into Malaysia/ generally, an Australian passport holder can enter Malaysia under such circumstances.

Hi there
Effective 17 Aug thru ticketing will be available on Air Asia on a number of routes, bags will be checked thru and you will be able to transit the LCCT without clearing immigration.

Melbourne-Stansted is one of the available pairings.
Gold Coast-Stansted isn't.

MCT at the LCCT will be 90 mins.

Cheers
