I arrive ~8:30pm and depart ~9:20am. I have no desire to travel too far in bus/taxi and just want to sleep.

I have never stayed in a hotel in South Korea and do not know what to expect. The less I pay the better but there appear to be a lot of guesthouses and backpacker places around so trying to avoid them.

Are the budget hotels in the area OK? I am looking to stay in Hotel Parkwood Incheon Airport and I can get this for ~AUD65 for the night and it includes shuttle to/from airport. The reviews on TripAdvisor are favourable but that does not mean anything.

Any thoughts?

My daughter and son-in-law stayed at the Best Western Sondo Dong and found it very comfortable, but probably a bit dearer than Parkwood. It was in the middle of Incheon so had a chance to wander around and see a few sights.

There's also a hotel in the transit area at Icn.

Not a lot of recommendations around Incheon? I think the transit hotel looks expensive.

The Parkwood is now ~$79 with free shuttle to/from airport.

I am in Seoul right now and I would not travel all the way into downtown Seoul for an overnight transit (took me almost 2 hours on the bus to get into the City !).

We had a 12 hour transit in Seoul in december and I booked one of the Ibis hotels in the city. Took the express to Seoul central station and then cab to hotel. I thought it was worth getting into the city (we had never been before, but will definitely go back again).

I'm in the same boat as you. Arrive 7pm into ICN and depart 1.45pm next day. Don't want to bother heading into Seoul.

This hotel looks decent: Incheon Airportel Incheon | 11th #1143 IBC DIOVIL 2850-7 Unseo-Dong Incheon 400-340

Available from $US61.

Much better.

CX BKK-HKG-ICN-HKG-BKK on a really cheap sale airfare credited to QF and involving the HKG Lounge Crawl on 08 June 14. ;)

I booked the Hotel Incheon Airport.

Apparently has a free shuttle from/to airport but you may need to call them. Sounds like fun.

All turned out quite OK.

Shuttle was a breeze. Ask at information counter and they called hotel and told me where to wait. Only 10 minutes to hotel.

Hotel was not bad for the price paid. Free wi-fi, water, soft drink and orange juice in fridge.

Shuttle back to airport in the morning.
