I have searched on this forum, but havent found any recent responses so unsure if still valid.

Wanting to book our nearly 1.95yo son his first trip - flying J* Y from MEL-CNS, then VA from CNS-MEL for the return trip. He'll be just over a week out from his birthday when flying, and given the flood of points accumulated over last 2 years of zero flying, I feel like redeeming a seat for him is worth every penny as trying to have him sit on our laps at home lasts about 4seconds.

However, I cant redeem him as a child seat as he's not 2 when flying, and I cant redeem a seat for him as an infant via the web.

Is the best way to call the call centre and wait and wait and wait, or am I best to book the infant seat with our redemptions, then call to add a seat for him?

If you are booking him his own seat, then just say he is 2+. Easiest way around it.

This would be what I would be doing, no one is going to ask if under 2 at the airport and in a practical sense it makes zero difference.
