Hi, trying to help a friend out in work, her daughter is 29 and travelling to Disneyland USA in August with friends and responsible adults as carers. The daughter suffers from epilepsy and also has Hydrocephalus and an Intracranial Shunt. She has had no episodes for the past 12 months or hospitalisation..few issues here we cannot find anyone to cover for insurance for these pre existing conditions, and would welcome any advice.

The other thing is my friend booked travel insurance for her daughter initially with Medibank private believing her daughter was covered under a policy they offered and when she discovered she was not fully covered wanted to cancel the policy and return of $$ but MediBank are refusing to refund any money as outside a 15 day limit ?? is this allowed? So here we have air tickets and hotel accommodation booked for August and no insurance...so please if there is anyone with any advice I can pass on thanks

Have you had a look at Covermore?

I have been looking on behalf of my daughter who has recently suffered CVT, and from my initial enquiries, looks like it could be suitable for her situation at least. YMMV.

I would recommend Globelink as I have used them for a few years already and they have a policy that covers USA, but I think she'll need to contact them regarding the pre-existing medical conditions.
