Interline success QF to BA

Good news story with interlining success (boarding pass and baggage) on two separate reservations (all revenue) QF1 SIN-LHR and BA470 LHR-VCE. My understanding was there was no obligation for QF to do this (unless one leg was an award ticket).

Keen to hear of other experiences folks have has with interlining.

I am pretty sure interlining between QF and BA always worked well, wether it s revenue or award ticket.

Edit: My bad, I missed the point where it was two separate tickets.

It can be done. Not according to policy though. Check-in agent was wrong.
