International transfer of MR points

Hi,

Just wondering if it's possible to gift MR points between accounts in Canada and Australia? My folks have the plat charge, as do I, however they can transfer to BA at 1:1. My thinking is perhaps I can have them transfer 50,000 points into BA, use family sharing and I will book tickets here. I then transfer 50,000 MR points from my plat charge to them...

I don't think you can transfer from one Amex MR account in Australia to an Amex MR account in North America.

If that was the case then everyone on AFF would do it and then transfer to Aadvantage or to SPG.

I had an non-Aust AMEX there for a while and there was no transferring between the Membership Rewards programs.

I believe if you are moving OS and use the AMEX moving overseas program to open an AMEX card in your destination country you can make a one time move of the points, but that isn't really relevant to your situation (might be of interest to others though).
