Does anyone have experience booking flights with:

Expedia
Cheaptickets.com
Kayak
Orbitz
OneTravel
Cheapair.com

I'm looking at Finnair J flights and I seem to be able to save a lot by using Expedia (and even more on cheaptickets.com) - are there any risks with these sites and ticketing the bookings correctly or am I safe to book with them?

I've used Expedia a few times for QF & BA flights with no worries.
No experience with the others.

I've used expedia.com, no problems apart from having to call the US when I needed to swap flights due to a schedule change.

I've tried using a few of the others (not sure which ones exactly) but couldn't with an Australian credit card. But I think they're all well known and pretty safe.

Many folks will say that when problems occur life becomes much harder if you have booked through one of these third-party sites.

I have not personally experienced that.. and have made quite a few (complex) bookings via XP.com....Have had a few changes to deal with- including on the recent TK Biz class deal BKK-IST-GRU - but no real trouble contacting XP or getting it sorted.. YMMV.

The beauty of such sites is that one can book multi-airline itineraries (I find them on ITA) that can't be booked any other way..

...unless using a TA of course...which I reserve for the really complex ones or those with more segments than XP allows...
