Involuntary cancelled JASA segment: What would you do?

I've got a JASA booking ~ TSV-BNE-SYD-AKL. Qantas has sent an email advising the cancellation of the SYD-AKL flight and I was put on a direct flight BNE-AKL.

Which means I am going to lose 40 SCs for the BNE-SYD flight. The very helpful platinum agent tried some rebookings but those didn't work out.

Though 40 SCs are not much in the greater scheme of things, they contribute towards my PG qualification. Do you think QF will accept my SC claim for original routing after the trip?

Yea they reinstated my SC and points on a cancelled QF29 recently, in fact they went out of their way!!

Thanks for the link, kpc. My concern is that QF cancelled the flight before I commence the trip (which is next week).
