Just wondering if anyone has any recent experience flying BA in F, and whether $10k sounds like good "value"?
Routing is:

MEL-SIN (QF F A380)
SIN-LHR (BA F A380)
LHR - SIN (BA F B777)
SIN-MEL (QF F A380)

I hear such mixed messages about BA F - but compared to EK who are charging $17k for the same trip, i was wondering is $10k "good" value? Or is it all bs and I should just fly on AY/CX/QF in J for just under $6k?

First world problem I know... but interested to hear thoughts of those that have experience with BA....

While I haven't ever flown long-haul F, I have flown QR A380 J, and (for a Oneworld loyalist) if you can get some combination of QR's reverse herringbone or Qsuites across two major sectors each way, and pay probably significantly less than $10k, I would do that.

Well, if you are willing to re-position out of Australia, you can fly Europe to Oz return for around A$8,500-9,000 and credit at the QF SC rate...

But short of BA you cannot do that ex-Oz unless you take the UA or AA or another rewards program option in which case you need buy miles first and then convert into award flights. Which means of course you pay one way or another for every flight versus pay for 2.5-3 and receive the next one free. Or credit card churn

The J products are pretty decent these days, so the question is whether $4k is worth the slightly smaller cabin, more personalised service, etc. I'd personally just go for the J option but if wanting F then it seems reasonable. The BA A380 F seat is decent, 777 not so much but neither are 'bad'.

Singapore and Lufthansa have a joint F class fare for around $11k, depending in the time of year. Compared to that, BA’s 10k is not so good. Of course compared to 17k on emirates it is.

It all depends what’s available, wether you are married to an alliance, etc, etc.

Depending on the time of year, BA also has their one way free upgrade. Business is around 7k and you can upgrade one way to F.

Yes I think this is decent value. BA F is a fair bit better than CW. LPGS, comfortable semi-private suite, food is ok but nothing totally outstanding. MF crew on those BA flights.
Most recent experience with BA F was In October (different route) and Shrek and I both found it perfectly acceptable.

Put it this way I don’t think there is anywhere near $7k difference in value between that itinerary and the EK one.

I'm looking at flying to Frankfurt. $9k F BA ticket versus a $7.5k J QF ticket.

Routing options:

BA option 1: MEL-SIN (QF A380), SIN-LHR-FRA (BA).
BA option 2: MEL-SYD (QF 737), SYD-SIN-LHR-FRA (BA).
QF: MEL-SIN-LHR (QF), LHR-FRA (BA)

Thinking that the extra may be worth it.

QF F to FRA would be $14k.

Agreed
I’d pay the $9K and go option 1

At least for me BA LTG (OWE) is achievable, sort of. I'm doing about 3000 TP a year right now and just over 1/3 of the way to the 35k needed; have about 16k TP.

Failing that I always have my lifetime QP to fall back on, not that it does me much good over here in LON :D

I'm a prisoner of OW... I'm so brainwashed that I will continue to make bad choices just so that I can one day get close to LTP and have it written on my tombstone "82% LTP"
My lifetime Bronze comes with as much liberties as it does limitations 🙂.
