HI,

Last month I paid for a stay at Hyatt Coolum for a very enjoyable night. To my Hyatt Gold Passport account I accrued a total of 15 points.

Does that sound right?

Now that I've received my Platinum Membership details, it's goign to take an aweful long time to accrue the 3,000 points for the free stay.

It sounds like not much, but it depends what they were for. The normal earnig rate is 5 points per dollar + 15% bonus for platinum.

How did you book/pay for the room?
What incidentals were charged to the room?

Let us know how you get on.

I'm suspecting that for an unknown reason they are going to say that it was not an eligible stay and that you got the points for the extras.

Just checked my account on Hyatt. The original points have been reversed out and 1,840 points added as another transaction.

Last week I sent off an invoice copy to QFF to see if they will credit some points for the same stay.

Cheers

You need to be careful with the Hyatt Coolum. My wife and I stayed in one of the villas in the woods last year and if you read the fine print it says that you don't accrue any points for this type of accomodation, even though you are paying the highest rates.

After a couple of email exchanges with the GM I managed to get some points however it was on a keep the peace basis.

Great stay though by the way. Loved the pizzas in the village square!!
