I've flown CBR -> BNE 4 times recently in J, 3 times on the 5:30pm direct flight, tonight via Syd.

On all 3 direct 17:30 flights, I've been offered "Afternoon tea" or a snack.

Now the food is tasty, (though I've just had my 3rd cheese board in a row, they're turning into the business class equivalent of the flexi cheese wrap), but really is just a snack -the portion is tiny.

Surely a 17:30 flight, where you're not actually feed until 18:00 or later, deserves something more than "afternoon tea" in J?

Given that 2 of the flights were points + pay, 1 was an op-up, and 1 a Platinum complimentary upgrade (and at 9:30pm, when a snack makes sense) I don't feel particularly passionate about the issue, but if I'd paid full whack (>$550), I'd be pretty peeved.

I've had a couple of op-ups on QF on the same route, and the food is nice and there is plenty of it.

I am sure that the short sector SYD-CBR must have something to do with it. I have been in J before andbeen served nothing st all due to a quick 20 minute sector due tailwind.
