Hi all,

I am interested in the St George Amplify card for 80,000 points.

However, is 80,000 points good for St George? Have they ever issued cards with more points?

Thanks!

I'd say any signup bonus points for the princely sum of $0 is a good deal.
As to whether St George have had a better deal in the past, suggest you trawl through the history of these pages, and perhaps Point Hacks.

I think its great for $0, haven't seen better from them in the last 18 months since I've been paying attention. But:
  • ANZ Frequent Flyer Black will give 120k points (plus 75 SCs) for $300
  • NAB Qantas Signature Rewards Card 90k bonus points for $295.
  • Qantas Premier Platinum 100k bonus points for $195.

FWIW, my threshold for a card to be worth a credit enquiry (as it is the number of enquiries that theoretically limits future applications) is now around 60k. So yes, if you're eligible this is a good deal.
