Booked QF 11 SYD - LAX on August 2 in Y+ several months ago and was originally allocated 34A. I checked my booking then to find that with only 4 other seats allocated in the Y+ cabin one of them had allocated right next to me in 34B. So I switched sides to 34K. Just logged on then and checked my booking to find that 34 A&B are now both showing not allocated and 34J next to me is taken.

Any chance this could be my platinum shadow? Not sure if there's any point moving back across the aisle at this point.

either that or you have a stalker.

or your wife has booked to travel with you as a surprise :)

Expert flyer is showing both seats, 34 J/K as occupied. Not a shadow, IMO.

Must be a platinum stalker. I feel like I have no choice but move to 34 A and see if they follow.

really?? do i have to change my seat again?? sigh...

(jokes aside, please do and let's see what happens... will be interesting to check how this reads out on expert flyer - will be a good test to see if it is correctly showing occupied seats)

Perhaps the two of you are doing exactly the same thing at the same time?

Log on, check seat availability, check E/F, re-allocate seat.

Ha, this could go on forever

Could you stop changing your seat you will be lucky to sit next to me DYKWIA and I know who you are... LOL

I've had a similar thing happen on a BNE-AKL flight for this Friday. E/F shows that the flight is basically empty (about 9 seats allocated) - yet someone has chosen to allocate the seat next to me and HWMBO in row 4!

Sometimes I think that other pax do this purposely to see if they can make you move.

Probably my own fault for leaving the aisle seat empty! Should've left the middle seat free...LOL

For now I've left the booking where it is in 34 K - tempting as it is to move over to A and see if the ballet continues. Whether I'm in A or K I guess the chances of the aisle seat staying open are slim to remote.
I have just registered for a points upgrade to J. If it is a stalker that might foil them.

There are no A or B seats available at this point. The only seats available are 36D/E and 39F.

I can see 34AB free at the moment with a WP number in the PNR (am now very interested to see if your shadow/stalker moves with you :D)

It should be a great conversation starter if someone is seated next to you 'have you been following me?!?'

Unusual. When I view the seatmap on EF for QF11 on 2 Aug. I get a different, although with some similarities, seat map. I double checked the date, time and flight just to be sure.

That's the map I see when I choose "select seats". I felt I owed it to you all to take the plunge and move to 34 A, so lets see what happens next. I just hope that the "K" seat isn't actually a better seat than "A".
