Daughter and partner was on flight nrt-ool on Jetstar this morning in business. Due to fog&rain after being in holding pattern for 20 minutes it was diverted to bne.

I thought they would refuel and then take off and complete flight, however Jerstars plan was to put passengers on buses to complete journey. Passengers were kept on plane for 2 hours whilst arrangements were made.

do you think they should try for a flight voucher as compo?

I understand operational requirements, but the decision to deplane and bus surely was a financial consideration by the airline which caused unneeded extra inconvenience to the passengers.

We organised alternate pick up but some people would have had per purchased duty free etc etc

I wouldn't bother. It was outside of the airlines control.

BNE-OOL is an example where buses would be acceptable.

Yep - agreed.

JQ don't fly the 330's out of BNE, so it's not as if they were just keeping the plane there for the next flight.

I'd say not much chance of JQ giving any compensation.

Weather is something that LCCs (and even legacy's) will use to block a claim!
