Hi

Does anyone know if Qantas will be getting delivery of anymore A380 this year?...and if so which routes it would be used on?...SYD-HKG has A380 4 days a week so I assume the 3 other days the A380 are used as servicing / maintenance days?... if another A380 was delivered would SYD- HKG be all A380?

Thanks

No more for a few years (2016-17), and will have no F when they arrive.

I would say at 3 days out of 7 reserved for maintenance then no wonder Int is making a loss.

I would say they would be deployed on other routes for the sake of the shareholders

There would be unlikely to be much availability before then.

Still time for a change in fit out.....

Your forgetting Cabin refurbs and D checks, part of running an airline.

Hi markis,
why no F when the new a380 arrive. Isn't the F cabin always highly sought after by passengers?

TQ

It has been mentioned for a long time now that the demand for paid F isn't at a very high level.

Upgrades and FASA's are paid for - it's just that the currency is different. In fact, at QF's burn rates, they might even be more profitable than payment with $'s.

(I'm sure there are accountants out there who will dispute this.)

with a 2016/2017 delivery date I am not sure if they could come sooner if a few orders are cancelled or are they confirmed by Airbus and money is basically in the bank.

Maybe if someone doesn't want there A380 they might ring another airline and say hey we have a 2013 A380 for sale only used on Sunday's by a little old lady to use to go to church. We can give you are slot for X dollars
