I do not know how to find what have been the most popular (in number of viewers) threads since TAFF was established.

Presumably the moderators know. Perhaps they would be kind enough to list the top 10 in order.

Is the ongoing thread about the much discussed QF announcement tomorrow (re 'saving $2 billion', 'up to 5000 jobs to be lost' and so on) in with any chance of becoming the most popular ever TAFF thread?

Here it is:

I highly doubt it.. the Ask the pilot thread has over 120 pages, PB over 80 and the announcement thread only 20...

*yawn*

You can measure the popularity in a number of ways - views, responses etc, however I doubt tomorrow's news will be popular...

Not going to make a 1000 posts by tomorrow the way it is going.
What a disappointment!:p;)

The totally off topic thread has had more than one million views.

mannej, I did not intend to infer that the QF media conference or press release(s) tomorrow would be 'popular' in the sense of any of us (myself included) being 'pleased' that some individuals will lose their jobs.

Irrespective as to whether enterprise A or B is overmanned, or doing poorly, losing a job is difficult for the individual and his or her family and often friends. Mind you, there's no media suggestion that 5000 (or 3000) staff will lose their jobs immediately and many might receive fairly substantial redundancy packages. Being private sector, management (what's left of it) presumably selects those who are given the proverbial pink slip, rather than asking for volunteers as some public sector organisations have on occasion through the years.

I was simply referring to how many times it might be viewed on TAFF (and as a side issue the post count as well), but I take nlagalle's point that 'Ask The Pilot' is (deservedly) well ahead.

Apart from the dubious need and coincidental placement of starting another thread to call on the issue of an existing thread, I have to say that TAFF is not a common abbreviation at all for this website.

It may get beaten by the 29th May 2014 announcement thread.

And then there was the Amex bonus points thread that went feral!!

Most of us refer to it as AFF.. Some still haven't caught on.. ;)

Apologies nlagalle. 'AFF' it is from now on for me.

Hope not.

The Off-topic thread should remain on top for a while.
