I awoke this morning feeling deeply perplexed! :(

I still vividly remember my dream from last night which, to say the least, is absolutely bizarre!

Any dream-readers out there who would like to interpret for me, please do so!

As an overview, I was booked to travel JQ from Port Douglas international airport  to HKG. I arrived early (to get the best seat.....on-line check in obviously didn't work) and was seated in F (on JQ ). However I was then directed to the lounge to wait for my flight, however because JQ didn't have a lounge, I was told to make myself comfortable in the VA lounge (jolly sporting of VA). Off I set to find the VA lounge. Alas, the VA lounge was no where to be found. For some inexplicable reason, I figured it must be in town, so off I walk (the airport was to the north of the marina, about where the club is, for those who know Port Douglas) as it was just a short stroll. I asked many people I passed en route for directions to this elusive VA lounge and I received many directions, all were followed, none were successful. I ended up walking all around town and then down to the marina without success (and by now lathered in perspiration and no doubt smelling a bit off) and it was at this point that I decided I had to get back to the airport, or risk missing the plane. Of course, that realisation came too late but luckily (or so I thought) a kindly old lady offered me a lift to the airport, but I was in such a hurry alighting from her car, I left my hand luggage in the car, complete with passport, wallet, cards, phone, all forms of ID and the thing that distressed me most, my Ipod with all my travel music! So my saga ended with me missing the plane and being left stranded in Port Douglas with no money, no means to contact anyone and totally despondent!

I never found that VA Port Douglas lounge so tragically, I cannot report back to the AFF community any reports about how good/bad it is, but as a bit of self diagnosis, I've concluded that I fly too much, I have deep seated emotional fears about JQ and that I need to take a Bex (do they still sell those) and have a little lie down.......preferably on a psychiatrists couch!

Happily, there were no snakes in this dream and I didn't at any point find myself naked in a crowded place, so I take some comfort in that!

My next JQ flight is on boxing day, so I'm going to make sure I don't listen to them if they advise me to make myself comfortable in the VA lounge!

OK, this one is easy.

Your dream is saying you want to book F Apartment on Etihad SYD-AUH-SYD as a revenue flight but budget rationality kicks in so it ended up Jetstar. The walk away from the airport was you saying you'd rather walk than fly Jetstar and you 'lost' your stuff so there was no way you could fly with them.

I suggest that next time, you dream of winning lotto first, then the rest of the dream should take care of itself.

Oh, that'll be $500, please. (Saves me from winning Lotto)

There's more than a little bit of truth in that. Money well spent, thanks! (Cheque's in the mail.....honest)

Griselda suggests that this is a nightmare rather than a dream!!!! :p

Hmmmm, I think you're right!

LOL. That's a lot of detail to remember in a dream.

Think you have issues with JQ and the elusive VA lounges in many of the airports you visit.

I believe snakes are good in a dream.

That's what worries me! I remember the whole thing like it actually happened! Twilight zone sort of stuff. The reality is, there is more that I didn't write in this story.....like the lady who gave me a lift also gave another guy a lift too, he was running late as well! I also remember exactly what the inside of the terminal was like. If I was any kind of artist, I could sketch it in fine detail!

I had a dream involving flying that SWMBO said would be my worst nightmare. Can't remember the details, maybe not being welcomed on a QF flight.

But I do still remember the dream where I asked, during a meeting with stakeholders, if a colleague would like to make sweet love down by the fire. Unfortunately, I woke up before getting an answer. Strangely this dream happened about 7 years after I'd left that workplace.

No idea what any of this means, but thanks for an interesting read!

I've got another story that is now about 6 year old and very true.

In August 2009, I went to the Sydney boat show with a friend of mine and as one does, got a skin full of grog. I awoke the next morning with a hangover and told my mate about a dream I had where I was in a casino (which I don't as a rule visit) and placed a single number bet on black 35 (roulette). It came up and I won $1000. OK we had a laugh and moved on with life. Almost exactly a year later, (August 2010) I was at a conference at the Burswood Entertainment Centre in Perth with my wife and when we left we walked past the casino and my wife suggested we go in and have a couple of bets, which we did. We bought some chips and were dabbling in a bit of unsuccessful betting and were just about to leave when we strolled past the roulette and that dream came back to me. I told my wife (I even remembered black 35) and she said to give it a try and to drop what we had left on it and then we'll go home. I wasn't convinced so I only decided to place a few low denomination chips on it, but what do you know......up spun black 35! We won a few hundred dollars, but the really eerie thing was that when I counted all the chips in my hand and multiplied that be the odds, I would have had almost exactly $1000 as a winning had I listened to my wife and put it all on!

There's a lot more to life than what we think we know and understand that cannot be simply explained away as coincidence.

To each their own.

It is obviously a dream about Airline Loyalty.

It's quite clear that the VA lounge is your familiar centre of calm and as such could represent your home

Your intended flight with JQ represents thoughts of infidelity. Although you expected JQ to be cheap,to your surprise, you are flirtatiously offered F service (something not available on VA either).

However, JQ is unable to offer you the domestic comforts of the lounge so you hope to visit VA while still intending to fly with JQ (the strumpet)

However, you then start to realise that you cannot have your cake and eat it, VA is now beyond reach (maybe missing the SG or WP threshhold); you become sweaty and anxious and aim to return to JQ

You fear that you will miss the chance to comsumate you flight with JQ. The old lady (presumably QF) offers to help you meet her younger sister. However, you act recklessly losing all your symbols of status. Your loss of music means that you will never be able to 'travel' the same way again

Now that is really very, very good! I had to stop to wipe a tear from my eye!

As I still have VA status, and a long way toward gaining my targeted QF status, should I take it to be a glimpse into my future? Let's face it, the airline infidelity has already come true and the old girl (QF) is certainly well and truly playing her part...........

JQ will never deliver on the promised F of course-you'd be lucky to get a quick bundle :)
