Is there a Qantas Baggage check phone number?

Mrs Albatross was on a short Qld regional flight over a week ago. Her bag went missing and the QF Self Service UI seems designed to get rid of annoying enquiries. Does anyone have any telephone number or is it a case of having to go and stand at the airport?

May be this will help?

If anyone can advise on an AU number, it would be greatly appreciated. I currently have a bag that is 48hrs delayed and apparrently at the airport near where I am staying, but not moving in the queue. The online services say it is received and awaiting to be processed for delivery.

I have called the 1300 number four times, which seems to redirect to one of the reservations centres. Outcomes:
- First time, was disconnected (+12h after arrival)
- Second time, after Mrs Excel had a voicemail and asked us to call the 1300 number to confirm our details, we did, they were correct. The person we spoke to gave us two 02 numbers, neither of which bore fruit (+13h after arrival)
- Third time, confirmed our details were correct again, and (+36h after arrival)
- Fourth time, just now, disconnected again (+42h from arrival)

The "baggage services" number will close in 1h 15m now (though I was told by the first person I spoke to it is 24/7). This is extremely frustrating but it is looking like the only option is to go to the airport...

Went to SYD. Bag was still there. Now with me.

Advice to anyone lodging a bag to get delivered to a hotel: ensure that you put the hotel name in the address or free text. If it is not clear whether the building is an apartment or hotel it appears they will not deliver if they cannot verify someone will be there to collect.

They also indicated that the email address the call centre said they would escalate to (twice) doesn't exist.

Bump: Has anyone had any recent experiences with delayed baggage coming off an international flight? Flew back from NAN via AKL on Sun 29 Jan and am still waiting for my bag to arrive. The agent at the SYD baggage services desk had a printout that showed the names of several passengers on the flight (including me) whose bags had not been uploaded in AKL.

If it's AKL, I've been hearing it could be one to two weeks. I've heard there is currently a type of embargo on any baggage coming through the airport that's not with the passengers. So 'rush' bags will not be sent there or via any other port to get to AKL.
If the bag is still in NAN, then shouldn't be any issue getting to Australia. But seems like the bag is in limbo in AKL.

Oh no. I suppose it's related to the recent flooding? There is no one I can speak with to try to get more updates on the situation, is there?

Yeah related to the floods and having no staff nor rooms left for missing bags, nor much availability for delivery companies and severely weight restricted flights.

You can call, but they will tell you the same information as to what you see on the website.

Just needing advice regarding missing luggage.I was on a flight from New York to Dallas and due to delays missed my connecting flight Dallas to Sydney. They booked me on flight next day via Melbourne. On arrival in Melbourne my luggage didn’t arrive.Did the paperwork, and had to get on my next flight to Perth. It’s been 2 weeks and still no luggage.Qantas have been no help.Keep calling for updates and all I get told is we are looking.Starting to get frustrated. My daughters luggage arrived 3 days ago,and still no updates on mine.Any advice please.

I'm sorry to hear of your experience.

My advice is to keep calling and document the details of each call. Try calling at different times of day and to different call centres/numbers. Another option may be to go to an airport Qantas has a Qantas (rather than a contractor) presence at and plead your case that way.

Did your bag arrive?
I too am awaiting a bag now 6 days late from Dubai. Qantas customer care ( 1300306980) is just a place to fob people off. The call center has no contact with baggage services, and is no help whats so ever! So frustrating 😫
I will put in a complaint every day, i reckon the squeeky wheel gets the greese lol
