Hi,

Is there a way to monitor Cathay Pacific award frequent flyer seat availability?

Expert Flyer doesn't have access to CX award availability so is there another tool I don't know about that can work with CX? Otherwise will just have to do it manually.

Thanks,

Dale.

Award Nexus and the KVS tool both have CX awards. They are paid options and the easiest of the two to use is Award Nexus.
Alternatively CX awards can be seen for free using a BA Exec Club account, QF account or by joining Asia Miles

Hi Fiona and Dale,

Do either of you know if you can set up alerts re Cathay availability? I don't think KVS provides alerts, and Cathay isn't on EF. Another way, or is continual manual searching going to be the only solution?

Unfortunately KVS does not provide alerts. I think manual searching is the only option.

Award Nexus does automatic searching for you. It's a paid service but I have found it useful and it's very accurate.

Is it right to assume CX automatically allocates Asia Miles waitlist redemptions before releasing U availability to Oneworld partners? I was thinking my Amex MR may be better off going to Asia Miles if this is the case given the majority of my award travel is on CX (but through AA to this point).

Cathay appears to have award space opened about 1 weeks ahead of release to OW partners. So if you do have AsiaMiles then you would have first dibs (plus potentially see award space allocated only to CX members).

Having said that, what are your desired alternatives for where you'd tf Amex MR points? I tf my Amex points to SQ rather than CX because the redemption value per point seems better.
