Is there a way to pay Origin using Amex?

Great tip TV, thanks a bunch for that. Will actually use this for a few other bills which also don't accept Amex.

Good stuff. I'll see if this works for me next time i don't see Amex.

Does this method pay instantly or do you need to allow a couple of days for processing? i.e. pay 2-3 days before the due date?

And I got it off someone else on AFF. Can't quite remember who however :oop:

We've been paying on the due date. You get a receipt from both PayPal and auspost with a payment date and time, so I don't think that a payee can argue about when a payment was made.

Brilliant, thanks. Does this avoid 0.6% processing charge?

It sure does

I'm not sure if this is correct. If I remember correctly, the 0.6% processing charge is added on top of the bill as an amount owing which gets added to your next bill.

For example, if you owe $300, and you pay $300 with your credit card, it won't say "hey, you still owe us $1.80 because you paid by credit card!"
However, for your next bill which has usage/supply charges of $400, it will now be an amount owing of $401.80 because you previously paid by credit card.

That's certainly the way it works when you buy directly by credit card or via a direct debit to a credit card. I've just paid a bill using the Paypal method so I'll report back in a couple of months when my next bill is issued whether I get slugged with the 0.6% surcharge.

Just paid my first account via this method also. Brilliant :)

Just confirming that my subsequent bills have had no processing fees payable.
