I am booked on DJ472 BNE - PER on the 28th, has anyone got any ideas on how to get an upgrade on DJ these days. (I do have Velocity Gold status if this helps)

Normally I only fly on the east coast so I havent bothered chasing upgrades as the flights are short.

Back in my past business life I was QFF Gold and thankfully always managed a upgrade when travelling to or from Perth so i am not looking forward to 5 hours in cattle class.

Cheers
Dave.

From what to what ? The only upgrade I can see is to get more leg room in emergency exit.

From economy to premium economy would be nice...:)

Even though I am not a big guy I prefer extra width over extra legroom...maybe I will get lucky and have an empty seat next to me, according to seatcounter the flight looks pretty open (if i am reading seatcounter correctly)

Cheers
Dave.

Looking through the velocity website I can see no reference to using points to upgrade to PE.

Perhaps asking at checkin or the lounge may help but as I have never flown DJ I am going on their website only.

There is the Taster upgrade, but you will need to be booked on a Corporate Plus or Flexible fare, and have booked before 28 Feb.

See this page: Virgin Blue Premium Economy

See if you can pay the $45 for Blue Zone (ie exit row). If that's not available, just ask on board and they will probably let you move into Premium Economy. Or just move without asking, which seems to be what everyone else does.

Maybe take a box of chocolates for the FA's as a bit of an incentive:mrgreen:

DJ's systems dont have the capabilities to do upgrades like QF, but as previously posted on another thread by a DJ lurker, its in the works.

I flew DJ472 in January and I am pretty sure there was no premium economy seating on that flight which seemed odd to me. Interestingly on the flight back we were on a brand new plane (747-800 I believe) and there was no in flight entertainment offered.
I guess they don't like us that much in Brisbane

Thanks for the replies.

I missed the cut off for the "taster" promo so that wasnt an option unfortunately.

Wonder which brand of chocolates the FA's and lounge prefer

Paulcut.....the website was selling premium economy @ $999.00 for the flight so one would assue they actually have the class on the aircraft. Can you imagine the blue if a pax paid the money only to discover it wasnt !!!

Cheers
Dave.
