Hi All,

Currently I have an altitude black, amex edge and amex plat charge. The plat charge will go on next renewal unless something drastic changes. I am planning to sign up for the mac bank visa plat with the 40000 bonus qff points.

Is it a bad strategy to keep the mac bank plat visa and also altitude black and edge? Since the other cards do not credit to QFF, this is assuming I no longer have the amex charge. My plan was to keep the $1 for 1 qff with the mac bank card when amex is not accepted. So I guess the amount earn from the mac bank card won't be a big total as most places I go to accepts amex, so looks like with the small total of qff I can redeem for domestic flights? the burn rates on qf international is not so good as well.

Do you guys keep both qff and other ff options on various credit cards or do you just focus on 1 qff?

Thanks,
K.

The Macquarie Visa is still good to save some % CC charge come BAS time.

It is less restrictive in that respect cf WOW EDR CC.

Unless you have regular BAS going forward on that, the cheaper alternative is the EDR CC (after Macquarie's first year bonus) to meet your AMEX-incompatible spending.

My 2c

Cheers

Thanks legroom. Yeah no BAS for me. I am only after the bonus points but if it's a good card to keep I will keep it. So the EDR CC would be best for me after the first year? I guess the only other difference is I get 2 QP passes with the mac bank visa plat every year?

The going rate on 'Bay for two QC passes is about $100 approx.

I forgot what else Macquarie is offering with its card (? travel insurance etc ...).

Lots of people here reported that they had difficulties activating that card and getting the bonus so be warned there.
