Hi,

I have got my visa through the official website from smart traveller https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/tra-cuu-thi-thuc

But my travel companion got visa from the following site. And you cannot undo it once it is approved. Just wanna check anyone has got a visa from the following site and it is legit when entering Veitnam.

Has anyone used this website to obtain a visa to Vietnam?

If so, is it legit website?

Yes thanks for all the replies. I have got mine through the official site.

But my travel companion got from this website. And there is no going back once the visa is approved. So I wanna check the visa from this site is legit or not😅😅

The e Visas should look the same...what was the price difference? The official price is USD 25

….. And there is no going back once the visa is approved. …

What does this mean?

If the site is legit, and the visa is approved, then they have a legit visa.

If the site is fake, and the visa is approved, then they don’t have a legit visa and are free to apply via the official channel correctly.

His visa look the same as mine. But we could not verify the legality of it. When we search on the https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/web/guest/tra-cuu-ho-so.

Itt kept on saying "no results found".

But could that be because it is through an online agent?

Hence my question, has anyone used this website before?

Before a recent trip to Vietnam, I applied for the USD 25.00 official visa.

It’s supposed to be issued within 3 business days, in most cases. I wanted to travel in a week’s time.

On the day of my flight, I still had not received the official visa. So I had to decide whether to try one of the many third party sites that promise a visa within hours or perhaps purchase a refundable onwards ticket which would at least allow me to fly to Vietnam with an up to 24 hours airside transit. The latter was to allow more time for the official visa to come through.

I ended up doing both.

The third party site wanted USD150.00 to issue a visa within 5 hours.

The onwards ticket allowed me to get a boarding pass for my flight to Vietnam.

While waiting to board my flight, the third party visa came through. And, with an extra USD 25.00 that needed to be paid on arrival in Vietnam (a “stamping” fee), it worked.

My official visa eventually came through two days after I arrived in Vietnam.

The two visas look nothing like each other.

The third party visa is more of an invitation letter that approves a visa on arrival for yourself and many others that are listed in the letter. So you can’t go directly to passport control. You have to first get the visa placed into your password at another counter and pay the extra fees.

The official USD25.00 visa:

We are having a similar nervous wait for a visa for Mrs SS.

We Applied on Feb 6, were asked for further information on hotel on Feb 7 (had entered name and city rather than name and full address). I realise they were closed over Lunar New Year but nothing since and certainly longer than the 3 business days. Yesterday requested an update via their e-visa support.

Don't panic captain Mainwaring! Unfortunately we are a little bit. Flight is in 4 days.

Just out of curiosity...do people make last minüte decisions to go to Vietnam? We went to Vietnam on Jan 7th....we applied separately for Visas in late November! We got all 4 e Visas within 3 business days.

I applied for an e-visa about a week before my trip. Which was when I decided to go to Vietnam. So, yes, some people do make fairly late decisions.

I was mostly going to Malaysia but wanted to visit somewhere else as part my trip.

I relied a bit too much on the within 3 business days usual approval time. There were no holidays when I applied.

I can say that during my trip I met several Australians who also had trouble with the USD 25.00 official e-visa.

The first one was my seat mate on the flight MEL-SGN.

Then a couple behind me in the SGN arrivals passport control line.

Then 2 x couples at my hotel in KUL that were denied boarding by AirAsia for their flight KUL-HAN. Actually only one from each couple was denied but they were couples. One couple then used one of the expensive but fast visa on arrival sites. The other couple gave up on Vietnam.

What’s happening seems to be both that the e-visas are taking longer than 3 business days and are then issued with mistakes.

The mistakes include passport number errors (eg 2 digits swapped) and missed apostrophes in names. Considering you have to upload a photo of your passport page, these mistakes are pretty poor. The couples I met didn’t notice the mistakes but AirAsia did.

And try getting them corrected. It’s more-or-less start again.

The e-visa website was also pretty poor. The entire FAQ section was missing when I used it.

Update; visa issued. Perhaps Vietnamese embassy monitoring this thread? :)

So the visa application took 14 calendar days which included the period of the Lunar New Year closure.

I have told Corporal Jones to stand down.
