Is this hinting at an exciting new codeshare, or one that's already been announced...

Assumably NH if we go by the news posted recently in the VA/HND thread.

All the NH codeshare destinations are visible in the Asia Pacific tab when searching for a ticket so I’m assuming you’re correct.

ANA frequent flyer number can also be entered into a VA booking now.

VA coded ANA operated flights are starting to appear (although still zeroed out) from 18 July 2023:

It seems that VA7427 was last used during the Air NZ codeshare as a BNE-AKL service.

One interesting thing to note is that the number of flights VA is appearing to place their code is rather limited, obviously this is pre announcement but with VA77 arriving at 8pm there are no same day connections through to domestic flights (or at least a MCT hasn't yet been setup to support a 8pm to last flights around 9:30pm option).

As a result of the above it seems that most connections offered will be first flight of the next day. Again this hasn't been locked in yet but if this holds true to remain on a VA flight number for CNS-HND-ITM you have to take the 6:25am flight otherwise other options will involve a NH number. Hopefully this changes because the VA choice fares currently allow stop overs for free in Japan.

All well and good but I thought ANA were flying from PER direct to HND from 29 Oct. When I popped into the VA Web for flights no ANA recognised and routes via SYD, MEL or CNS! 🫣
