My frequent flying activities haven't exactly been big in times past, but thanks to my recent mad 7 sector trip (trip report part deux still being written at the moment), I've crossed my first every loyalty bonus line scoring the usual 5k. It was marked by the following entry in my activity statement: "CONGRATULATIONS! LOYALTY BONUS"

Its not big, but its better than a poke in the eye with a blunt stick. If only I had the cash to raise 120SC by the end of January to make it to silver.

Small congratulations ..... I don't get any bonuses, but hey I don't fly QF enough these days.

Unfortunately they got rid of the real sweetener... Upgrade Credits, that got replaced with the loyalty bonus.

1 Upgrade credit for every 350 SC's. 1 upgrade credit = upgrade from Y to J on SYD-MEL type segments, 2 for SYD/MEL-PER, 4 from AU to USA.

They were the real nice ones. Many annoyed people (me included) when they ditched them for 'equal value' loyalty bonuses :(

You are averaging!

It WAS originally one UC per 250 SC's for the 2001 changes, then it was increased about a year later to 1 UC per 450 SC's - to be replaced with "Loyalty Bonus" in the May 2005 changes.

Also not that one UC would get you a WHY-J upgrade MEL-BNE.

only equal value if you are in full Y... for semi flex (not red-e-deal/sale) it's 8k pts...

upgrade creds is much more like the AA system, except you must be gold (QFF silver equiv) or above...
