Hi Guys,

just a quick question, I have just upgraded my Saturday morning flight SYD-BNE to J.
I know this will give me J-lounge access in SYD. I then have a connecting Qantaslink flight to HVB from BNE.
Will I be able to access the J-lounge in BNE even though that is an economy ticket and i'm only SG based on my previous sector in J?
Also I understand I can check 2 pieces at 32KG each will this be applied even though im travelling on Qantaslink through to HVB? Thanks for your help.

I agree with docjames on this...

Your luggage will be fine as it will be booked straight through but might be harder on the way back.

My experience is that if all flights are on the same itinerary then your larger allowance will take precedence - I would call Qantas to confirm though. I think there is no harm in asking for J lounge access, although if your onward ticket is discount economy they might not be so excited by the idea.

Not to much difference between the two in BNE, in fact you might find the QP better!

As an SG, you will only be able to access the Qantas Club in BNE, given that you will be accessing the lounge based on your status, and your onward flight is in Y. The only time you can base lounge access on an arriving flight is with WP status.

So, at reception, you would be directed to your left to the Qantas Club, but trust me, you're not missing out on much. :)

And as previously mentioned, your baggage will be checked straight to HVB from SYD, so that is fine, but you will not be able to claim this allowance on your return.

Hi Guys thanks for all your help.
Should have no issue with baggage on return as i'm just taking some stuff up which i won't be bringing back.

Ok so got off the SYD flight about half an hour ago and now in the J-lounge waiting for Qlink to HVB. Simply showed my SG card to lounge dragon said I just came off J-class from SYD and going onto HVB. Asked if I could access J-lounge and she said yes as it was same day travel as the J-flight.

Sweet! That is why it never hurts to ask!

Didn't you use to be able to fly direct Sydney to Fraser Coast airport.?

DJ still fly direct but I prefer going QF more value and better service in it for me. not to mention flights throughout the day and not just 1 a day in the morning.
