Hi all

I currently have award bookings for the A380 product from SIN-LHR, but my plans may have to change. The new award flights I have found are mostly on the 777-300ER (which I think is the new business product). From what I have red, the new business product is very good but the 777-300ER is noisy compared to the A380?

Any suggestions - or does it not really matter with both of these aircraft

Thanks in advance.

You will not notice any noise difference - if new J take it in a heart beat - it is a great seat.

Cruiser how can you tell if it is a new J product? - is it all 777-300ER?
You cannot 100% TMK - there are 2 x 777-300ER older 77W and newer 77WN - prior to travel do a dummy booking search and see if PE offered if it is then will be new 77WN for sure - if no PE may still be new 77WN - no way to definitively tell.

Cruiser, are the 77WNs on particular routes these days? I know they were initially, but what about now? I haven't heard about them in a while (although did end up on one SIN-HKG in Y and liked what I saw in the J seat).

Do you ever see it on the MEL-SIN/SIN-MEL route?

SQ 227/228 MEL SIN route barring substitutions. SQ 318/319 on the SIN LHR route. There are other routes but no knowledge here. Check out SQtalk they have a dedicated thread there

Singapore Airlines latest cabin products on the new B777-300ER (77WN) - 2013 - SQTalk

Thank you

looks like it is the new business class product then. Yay.
So it does mean that both 77WN and 77WR (with PE) are flown to LHR once per day + 2 A388.

When I try to select a seat - it shows up a 42 seat business cabin on both the SQ 318/319 - not 48 seat new product. (meaning the old product?) is that normal?

318/319 both not displaying PE availability but does state 777-300ER so most prolly 77W but I can't definitively say.

Ok here is the situation as I understand it

Boeing 777-300ER

In Service: 27
Seating 1( what most call 77W): 8F/42J/228Y (2006 F, 2006 J, 2006 Y)

- 9V-SWA
- 9V-SWB
- 9V-SWD
- 9V-SWE
- 9V-SWF
- 9V-SWG
- 9V-SWH
- 9V-SWI
- 9V-SWO
- 9V-SWP
- 9V-SWQ
- 9V-SWR
- 9V-SWS
- 9V-SWT

Seating 2(what most call 77WN) 8F/42J/228Y (2013 F, 2013 J, 2013 Y)

- 9V-SWU
- 9V-SWV
- 9V-SWW
- 9V-SWY
- 9V-SWZ
- 9V-SNA

Seating 3(what most call 77WR): 4F/48J/28 PE/184Y (2013 F, 2013 J, 2015 PE, 2013 Y)

- 9V-SWJ
- 9V-SWK
- 9V-SWL
- 9V-SWM
- 9V-SWN
- 9V-SNB
- 9V-SNC

So seating 1 and 2 look identical on a seating plane.
The 77WN appear more regularly on routes such as 318/319 and 227/228 but substitutions do occur.
77WT appear on the PE routes like LHR ,MUC and SYD.
But when its all said and done SQ change things frequently like the seasonal 380 into MEL.
So flightradar24 will give you some better idea closed to flight time.

Hope this helps:)

Thank you Danger UXB for the explanation - hopefully I get the new business on both legs - at least one would be nice =)

I got confused by the Singapore airlines website stating:
https://www.singaporeair.com/pdf/seatmaps/boeing777-300er.pdf 3 class 8F/42J/228Y (2006 F, 2006 J, 2006 Y)
https://www.singaporeair.com/pdf/seatmaps/777-300ER-4class-4FCL.pdf 4 class 4F/48J/28PE/184Y
https://www.singaporeair.com/pdf/seatmaps/777-300ER-4FCL.pdf 3 class (refitted) 4F/48J/232Y

Got to love SQ and their multiple aircraft configuration!!!
Ok the 3 class refit you are refering to relates to
9V-SWJ and 9V-SWK
they were original old 2006 style seats that were upgraded to 2013 seats with 4F then later last year they had a few rows Y removed ( 232 down to 184) to include the 28 PE seats. This upgrade to the best of my knowledge is complete so this aircraft layout does not actually exist anymore.

Just as a side thought I hope they do not continue with this 4F seat plan roll out . I have been watching the SIN/MUC route like a hawk since it was changed to PE and no F savers to be seen anywhere which does not bode well. Prior to this with 8F configuration savers were plentiful.

Any seat in Row 11 is good. 11DG are perfect alternatives, they have a full wide leg rest area. With the privacy screen deployed you basically have a private suite.

14A/K and 15D/G are also good if you can't get row 11; note that these are "bassinet" positions and so cannot be pre-reserved, but get to checkin early and ask nicely, and you will usually be able to get them.
