Hi guys,

Not sure if any of you can assist.

I'm flying JAL Business to Europe next weekend (first time JAL in years) and wondering any of you who may have been on their 777 2 Class Metal out of Sydney can point out any issues with Row 1 which i've reserved?

Seat Guru doesn't offer any assistance, all 3 of their 777 seat maps have a first class cabin which the ex SYD flights don't.

Anyway just thought i'd put it out there, had a choice of Row 1 or Row 7 on the window, wasn't sure if one had any advantage over the other.

Cheers
TG

Row 1 has lots more legroom than other rows, particularly the 4 seats of both sides of the aircraft. As it's a 777, the gallery is at the front and there's likely to be noise and light coming through.

Similarly, the last row (I assume it's row 7, can't remember now), will have lights from the toilets.

Service starts from row 1, so you may want to take that into consideration.

If it's strictly row 1 vs row 7, I'll take row 1. If I've other choices, I'll take the rows in between.

I flew SYD > NRT > LHR on JAL Business Class a few months ago.

Was in row 1- plenty of legroom and space to get in and out of your seat.

Apart from that- found most of the seat numbers to me roughly the same.

I'll be flying JL in August (SYD-NRT-JFK) ... I'm wondering what the service/seats are like? I've been reading so many mixed reviews of, eg JL vs QF ... all I can glean so far is that I need to pack my QF 'jamas as JL only supply a "cardigan" for Biz ... I've found QF biz comparable to UA F ... so interested in what I can expect with JL biz. TIA!

You may have the new JL Biz by then which is flat bed I believe? The current/old JL business is similar seat style to QF Slopebed.

Service will always be fantastic.
Food will always be plentiful and yummy!

If you're lucky, JAL seats also come with a bonus dose of radiation for all flyers in the next few years.

Enjoy your journ...trip!

I wonder if that's for all classes

Thanks for the response trippin_the_rift ... fingers crossed for the flat bed ... but it sounds good!

well it seems teh only way i can get hone on my circle asia business fare booked at teh last minute (very last minute) is via tokyo!

I suspect that the shanghai tokyo leg will be very empty!

I'll be travelling on JL772 (SYD-NRT) next year. Is it still the case that a meal is served about an hour into the flight (maybe difficult for wine pairings!) and a snack (breakfast-like) before landing? Comments from recent travellers of their experience (in J preferably) on this flight would be appreciated.

Yes ... But they also offer meals/snacks throughout the flight ... I had a great flight last year and am doing a repeat performance in December. I don't think you'll have any problem with your aperitifs and/or wine pairings;). Enjoy ...
