I need 80 more SC's to reach WP, and will be in Melbourne with a few hours to spare on Sunday August 21st. I've looked up Melbourne to Sydney/Adelaide/Hobart/Canberra, so far Sydney looks to be the lowest points spend at 32,000 points + $131.14 - is that as low as Melbourne - Sydney - Melbourne JASA point spends go or is it possible that the points required might fall lower as it gets closer to August 21st?

I think the points will stay the same at 16000 one way, the dollar amount can change due to taxes going up (or down but haven't seen that a lot :D)

32k is about the cheapest way you will get the 80sc. don't forget you will get 2,500 FF points from the JASA. The points won't drop either.

Cheers,

Nick

My understanding is that a JASA to any of those cities will always cost the same, ie 16,000 points each way.
Advantages in going to Sydney or Canberra is that you get to use the Business Lounge when you arrive/transit.
If going to Sydney you may travel on a bigger plane than the 737.
Hobart Qantas Club is not exactly inspiring, plus there are limited Qantas flights each day.
Enjoy the Status run.
