Hi all,

Can't find the seat map for JetConnects international config 737-300...

Does anyone have? Doesn't seem to be on qantas.com anymore...

I'm dashing to Welly & back next week, in Y (work now classifys NZ as domestic!) and wanted to check my preallocated seats & also avail of business seats, see if it is worth going for an upgrade...

Can anyone help?

Im on:
25/04/06 QF117 Syd-Wel Seat: 13F
26/04/06 QF048 Wel-Syd Seat: 03A

Thx / J

www.checkmytrip.com may still have seat maps available...

Availability is looking something like:

QF117

2 rows of J. 5 J seats unoccupied atm.
You're by yourself in 13def right now, but pretty much guaranteed to have company as economy is absolutely chockers and may be oversold (no availability at all in economy)

QF048

2 rows of J. 5 J seats unoccupied atm.
You're by yourself in 3abc right now.
From the numbers, I suspect plane is only about 2/3 full in econ.

Seats are nothing special. Value of upgrading is questionable if it's just for the seats.

thanks heaps thats really great.

I have to do some work on the way over -> and if the flight is full (the qantas flights to welly are usually chockas) id prefer to get it done in J

Does anyone have any recent experience with the Jetconnect SYD-WLG service? Particularly, what is the quality of the business class offering and is it worth upgrading from Y?

The J seating is standard QF Domestic 'Millenium' style.

Standard Tasman Business class fare - you will get a personal DVD player.

Have a look at this site for some seating information: QFlyer - Qantas Fleet Information (Do a search for 'Jetconnect'.)

As for upgrading; personally I would not

Be aware that occasionally Jetconnect have had to sub an all WHY configuration; this is very rare however.

And most people report that the JetConnect cabin crew are consistently very good and generally better than the QF mainline crews.

 Is there a problem with QF mainline crews?

Everything is relative! What has been noticed and commented on is as NM posted.

It seems strange that the QF mainline staff work under generally more beneficial employment agreements than Jetconnect (& Australian Airlines) staff, but consistently are not seen to provide the same level of personal service as them.

NM - I think you may have edited my message inadvertently instead of replying. I don't remember typing:
And I will admit that I went back and added the "C" word after I typed the sentence. And I think that may highlight most of the difference.
.

Oops, Most sorry. You are correct. Hit the wrong button. All fixed now I think.

Are the seats the 'Millennium' ones or are they like the 'convertible' J seats on the other QF Domestic 737-400 services? Here is the domestic seating config from Qantas on a 737-400 - Flying with Us - In the Air - Seat Maps - Boeing 737-476 - I have a visit to Wellington in October and booked in J so I would be interested in what seating will be like.

IIRC, folk in row 3 are offered personal DVDs as well, as they can't see the screen.

I upgraded to J on Jetconnect and was happy, but it was the 6 am flight out of WLG, so it was nice feeling vaguely human:)

Hello Chooms,

All Jetconnect 737-400s feature Millennium J class seats. These are the seats featured on 737-800s (+ selected 767-300s) in Australia.

Jetconnect 734s are configured 16J/126Y.

I second that! Have done the same, god awful flight time but wonderful Jetconnect service and a comfy seat its so much nicer:)

Flew WLG-MEL yesterday, 6am shock flight !

Had 3A, very comfy - plenty of legroom.

2 rows of J, coughpy Millenium seats.

I just flew to AKL / WLG and back over the last two days; Jetconnect crew on the 737's really stood out in the service level they provided when compared to most QF mainline crewed flights I have had in the last few years.

Little things, like ALWAYS asking if you wanted another when collecting one's empty beverage container. And this in WHY (unless in descent :p).
