This morning I was just about to book a SIN-BKK-SIN trip through Jetstar. I was all ready to push the buy button, when in addition to the the usual credit fee, there is now a 4.99% commission fee, being an extra $19. Does anyone happen to know what this "commission fee" is all about. My fare is cheap but on a more expensive fare, this would be a huge impost. Any comments welcomed.

Thanks.

I booked a KUL-SIN-KUL trip a few weeks ago and no commission. Could this be a SIN only fee?

Were you on the actual Jetstar site or was it an online TA?

Yep Jetstar site.

Yes it could be. I booked in AUD and upon buying the fares, the site crashed. It re-directed me then purchase in SGD. I got out of that screen and logged in again using AUD and it seems that the 4.99% fee has disappeared. Thanks for your assistance!

The moral of the this story is, DO NOT buy in SGD as it seems an extra fee is payable.

Don't know about a 'Commission fee', but there is a $9.50 'booking and service fee' per flight ($19 total)

Could that be dynamic currency conversion fee? But that doesn't sound right either.
