Am taking Jetstar 787 MEL - AKL soon(ish) and did one of the upgrades for $30 for seat 1C.

Is this really treated as J class or just Y.

So do I book meals in advance?
Take my own noise-reduction headphones (normally take these on any flights >2 hours)

Jetstar's website is very unclear on how these flights are handled.

I'm pretty sure it will be treated as Y. All you paid for was a larger seat and legroom. Totally worth the $30 though, and I think the headphones are provided with those seats.

Yep you get the big chunky headphones.

Well my flight is next week. Still can't see in my booking where to pre-book meals.
Guess that is not available on trans-tasman.
Will post a review after my travels - 5 sectors - 4 cities - 5 different aircraft
