Jetstar 787

It is an issue on the 747-8 as well.

Funny. As I was in the OOL VA lounge two weekends ago and there were severe storms the JQ 787 was the last plane to get in
Icing is not an issue (normally) near the ground due the temperature.

You need visible moisture and a temp below approx 3 deg C.

I read that there is a problem with these engines during storms.

JQ are having so many tech issues with their 787.

VKB recently spent 3 days in Bali after going tech, then has only operated one rotation since.

Today both VKA and VKB appear to have gone tech with Melbourne flights to coughet and Bali both delayed and A332 being brought into sub. Bali is delayed til 2030 as an aircraft is positioning down from Sydney.

As far as I can see, JQ29 from MEL to BKK departed at 1432 and took off at 1444, so it was only two minutes late ex MEL. As you say, it is being operated by A332 VH-EBA.

The Melbourne Airport website claims that the 1440 to HKT, JQ17 will depart at 1800 while JQ's own site suggests 1830.

JQ35 from MEL to DPS is shown at the MEL airport site as departing at 2020 (an hour and 35 minutes late) with the positioning move, JQ7995 due to arrive MEL at 1850. Presumably Flyerqf knows more recent information.

JQ29 is always an A332 service.

in the end JQ17 was cancelled as there was no spare A332 and as you mentioned an aircraft (VH-EBR) positioned to MEL to operate JQ35.

Both B788 remain on the ground.

I hope they won't be known as Awful & Broken. Australia's already got a pair of those flying ;)

Teething problems?

Maybe this is a (well-founded) reason for QF converting its orders to options and delaying exercise.

I flew this yesterday MEL-SYD out of Int Term

great experience, nice and quiet, and enjoyed the flight

F lounge and 1/3 full cabin may have helped though.

apart from the 3/3/3 cabin, can't help thinking would be a great replacement for 767 on SYD-MEL routes in peak times

QF need to hurry up and get the 787 into QFi and QFd!

VKE is on its delivery flight. Due into Melbourne early tomorrow morning.

I got notification this morning my JQ11 flight Gold Coast to Tokyo in November will be on the 787. After being at the Boeing factory last week I can't wait.

VH-VKF had it's first flight today. Looks like VKG and VKH aren't far behind.

When I hear/read VKG, I think of the callsign for NSW Police radio (not that it probably gets used much now), not a JQ plane. But that's probably just me. LOL.

Its still used as its required by law, and technically its VKGx where x is the number.
