I took a couple of flights on Jetstar A320s on the weekend, and I'm wondering if I am missing something. On both planes, there appeared to be an extra row of seats on the left hand side of the plane (A-C seats) as there was a toilet on the right hand side where the last row of seats "should" be. However, there was in fact no more rows on the left than the right... both sides finished at row 30. From what I could tell, there was simply a couple of extra inches of legroom for all A,B and C seats behind the exit rows. Behind the exit rows, the rows started not aligning for this reason.

Am I missing something here? FWIW I sat in 25A on one of the flights and did think the legroom was better than I remembered for JQ. If this is the case, I know which seats I'll be choosing in future. ;)

I believe they've opted not to add another row of seats on the left hand side because it would take the total passenger count from 180 to 183, potentially necessitating an extra cabin crew member.

After visually analysing this... there is a lot more room on the left in rows around 20 through 25 ish. Definitely not the same as the right

Some configs indeed have extra leg room on the left side behind the exit rows. However, you don't know what you'll get until you actually get on the plane. Not sure about the crew requirements though - I've always thought that it's 50 pax per 1 attendant.

In many countries the 50:1 ratio applies. I believe it's 36:1 in Australia (unless given a specific exemption).

I would tend to agree with some of the observations made about legroom on the left hand side of JQ's A320 aircraft.
It's a slight increase in legroom I believe from experience than the right hand side.
