I just booked a Star Class ticket from MEL to BKK.

I was having difficulty adding my frequent flyer number during the booking process. It is because there is a "-" in my name. So i just proceeded with the booking without the number. My wife's FF number was added ok.

We are both SG QFF.

What number should I call to add my FF to the booking?

Can I add it online??

Do jetstar bookings show up on the QFF member's website?

thanks

Chucksta

Call 131 538 to get your number inserted.

No way to show FF numbers online at the moment, you need to call and ask/confirm. You can change your seat selection via the web site. (new)

Can you use the ba.com "manage my booking" function to add a number?

No MMB does not work with JetStar, mainly I guess, being as JQ do not use Amadeus.

I have never had a Jetstar booking show up on my QFF page although I always quote the number. I think if you ring the QF number 131131 you might be able to get it added and listed on your page. I find having a booking listed on my page an advantage when printing off itineraries.

I have an answer for you...but its complicated, hence why Qantas Group hasn't solved it yet.

First up, JetStar changed the way they interfaced with the QF FF Database mid way through the year.

Prior to this change, you could make an online booking the same way you do at Qantas.com – that is; do flight/date requests and add you FF number to the booking once you have selected the segments you want. This would automatically associate the booking with your QF FF number, populate the form information, and afterwards, you could log in to either JetStar.com.au* (as a QF FF) or Qantas.com and see your advanced JQ bookings.

Now, since the change, the system will still ask you for a QF FF number after you have selected your flights (when you enter your personal details), but it will not cross reference the number with the QF FF database (and therefore not populate the form). So while you will receive a .pdf itinerary emailed with your frequent flyer # displayed, you can not log in to either JetStar.com* or Qantas.com as a QF FF and see your advance booking.

So…next step is to try and correctly associate the PNR with your QF FF details. Neither the JetStar nor Qantas website are able to do this via their booking management screens; you will receive an error message. Calling JetStar is no use either, as they can see your QF FF number in the booking, indeed once you have flown, your QF FF Activity will show the JetStar flights - but no one at JetStar is able to fix the system by properly associating the booking with QF FF. (Most of them can’t understand what you are talking about.)

Qantas Frequent Flyer is also unable to help, and suggest that you contact the airline you made the booking with. (Hmmmm!)

Anyway, to solve this endless loop next time, you have to first log in to JetStar.com as a QF FF before you do anything else! That’s right before you even start looking for flights/times, log in.

Admittedly, I constantly forget to do those extra key strokes/page hits before I start booking flights, and have many future flights that I worry I will forget about, because they are not in my Qantas.com FF future bookings screen.

* NB: the issue came about, around the same time as the Australian website’s integration with the Asian one.

Hi Serfty,

I called the number and have added my FF. Is there anyway to check it has been updated online? Or do I just have to call the number to check?

thanks

Chucksta

Call and check is the go I guess. Especially given the previous post. I did this once to ensure a particular seat* and while on the call I also rechecked my QFF number.

*No need for this anymore as the JQ website now includes the facility to change your seating request; doing so shows your current selection ... simply don't complete it if you're happy.

Firstly d15.in.oz, welcome to AFF.

You post is interesting and seems very plausible; I will keep it in mind next time I am looking to book on JQ.

I would have been happy to do this with my booking today; however as I had to follow a special link, I did not see the option to log on, so did not do so. I was simply happy to snaffle a couple of $602 seats.

My one and only JQ flight was part of a multi-city booking:

MEL-NTL (QF)
NTL-BNE (JQ)
BNE-MEL (QF)

[yes I know - hardly multi-city ;)]

The JQ flight was booked through the QF website using the multi-city booking option.

All three flights appeared under the "My Bookings" section in my QFF account.

The JQ flight also appears under flight activity, but alas no points or SC due to cheap fare purchased :(

Separate tax invoices were issued from QF and JQ.

The only times JQ bookings came up on my QFF page were when I booked them through QF website as part of my itinerary.
