Hi All,

Just after some advice pls. We're off to Japan in Jan for 2 weeks. So far we only have some accommodation booked for a weeks skiing (9-16 Jan) we're flexible with travel dates around those times.

In the past I've seen JetStar have sale specials where you can fly from the Gold Coast to Tokyo for just over $510 return/person.

Does anyone know if I'd be able to get these tickets over the time we're looking at going (2xadults; 2xKids) and are there gotcha's I should look out for? Trying to figure out when these tickets are released, or am I better off just booking something else as we'll have snow gear to cart over with us.

Thx in advance.

At those times with Ski Season and Australian School holidays? I really doubt it. Once you add the JQ baggage, entertainment, seat selection fees, credit card fees, food bundles etc etc - I reckon you're looking at $1200-$1500 per person return. At least thats what the JQ site is indicating.

If you are looking at other airlines (options) such as Qantas/JAL, Cathay Pacific or Singapore Airlines maybe expect to pay more? With excess baggage its conceivable that JQ flights could be more expensive than the QF flights so definately do your research on that one. (Japanese winter clothes are available much cheaper and better quality than stuff available in Australia at that time of year anyway).
