One JQ morning flight ex HBA (either JQ700, the 0800 that arrived MEL two minutes late at 0917 hours, or JQ702 that arrived in MEL 12 minutes behind at 1142) incorrectly had an emergency slide deployed onto the tarmac by a hostess, instead of a cabin door being disarmed. I am guessing that it was JQ700. If it had been me I would turn bright crimson.
Doubtless some such incidents are not reported but they are not common if the relative paucity of media mentions is any guide.
'Herald Sun' reports that the crew (it does not state whether just 'cabin' or 'technical') have been stood down while the incident investigated. Passengers took happy snaps that as usual appeared in this media article.
Not sure if it was connected, although it is possible, but JQ432, the 1000 from MEL to OOL did not depart until 1449 this afternoon with arrival suggested as 1649 instead of 1200 'high noon.'
