Hi I never booked a Jetstar flight with QF points before and have the following questions.
When selecting flight it shows baggage allowance of 23KG is this correct?
Are you able to select selects when booking?
Are you able to web check-in?
Any other advice would also be appreciated.

Cheers

Not sure about baggage allowance, however on the two very sorry occasions my company put me on JQ as part of a QF ticket, I could not check in online, it stopped my booking displaying properly on the QF website to allow seat selection on any leg or checkin. On that experience I would recommend not doing it!

I have not booked a QF award on JQ-but my preference is international premium cabin awards anyway.I have though booked JQ flights as part of a QF ticket. There are downsides-web check in cant be done, seat selection cant be done.I thought that I had some protection if there was a change of plans, missed connection etc but found this was not so.When I needed to change on one occasion it turned out cheaper just to write off the JQ sector and buy a new ticket direct from JQ.On the one occasion i had a missed connection I was on separate QF and JQ tickets.JQ couldn't help but a great QF agent was able to fix things at no cost.

My neighbour was actually asking a similar thing - he booking a return flight on the QF website - one way on QF, one way on JQ.

When he went to the JQ website to check in 48 hours before (JQ is 48hr OLCI, compare to QF's 24hr) he couldn't find the booking so called QF. They gave him the PNR for the JQ segment.

He was then able to find the booking on JQ, but still could not check in online so called and ended up with a Supervisor who said the following:
1. He thinks because QF checkin is only 24 hours before, that may restrict the booking that way
2. To try OLCI 24 hours before instead of 48
3. If that doesn't work, queue up at the zoo at 5am for the flight!

I'll try to find out when he gets back what happened.

As far as I know, Qantas does not sell the Jetsaver Light fares on their website - only Jetsaver and above. It says something on the booking page about how if you book direct via the JQ website you may be able to get cheaper fares with no baggage allowance.

Correct - and recently I also found out that the reason the JQ site is sometimes cheaper even for Jetsaver fares, is because the sale fares do not go through to the QF site.

I have a similar question but QF flight booked as part of a JQ itinerary. I wonder if JQ can give me the booking reference for the QF (JQ codeshare) flight
