Hi all,
Just want to clarify that if I am a Qantas Club member and I'm travelling Jetstar Y class el cheapo to HNL, that I can still use the Qantas Club lounge in Sydney and Honoulu?

Now because the Jetstar flight was an el cheapo fare ( one of those partner pays $4 offers) I won't get any miles or SC on my flights to/from HNL?

Thanks for any feedback :)

Yes you can use the QC, but I doubt SC and points will be earnt.

From memory only the more expensive JQ fares provide for this.

Both the JQ and Qantas websites have this information, including exactly which fares earn points/SCs.

The information published is rather terse:
  • StarClass - Business SC's and COS Bonus
  • JetFlex - Full WHY SC's
  • JetSaver - Nada, zip, zero, nufin ...

You will have no problems getting access to the QC here in SYD, however, I have noticed on a couple of occassions (2 of 5 HNL-SYD legs) that they may impose restrictions in the HNL QC on the days that the QF flights also operate on (HNL QC is small, so partners of solely QC members without a quest pass were not being permitted - and as departure time got closer I have seen them stop all new entries due to crowding (note - at that time they were mainly QF HNL-SYD passengers who soon after gained access once the JQ and early morning AA mainland flights started to board)).

In regards to points/SC's. only if if is booked as a Jetflex fare or StarClass, anything else (Jetsaver) and sadly you get nothing (new booking procedures also prevent points being credited from ODU's as well).

HTH

...oh, arrive early for checkin at HNL, unless you are flying *class there is only one line for check-in, and they do seem to be quite slow at getting things done (good point though is the required TSA baggage screening is done at the same place unlike many other U.S. airports, i.e. LAX)
