I am heading to Vietnam shortly for work, but may do some internal travel for personal reasons, and looking at Jetstar Pacific.

It seems to be a little ambiguous about whether Jet Flex fares on Jetstar Pacific earn QF FF points & status credits. If you click on fare conditions from the Jetstar Vietnam website fare rules, it clearly indicates that JetFlex fares are eligible for QF FF pts. Yet the QF FF terms and conditions do not list BL alongside the eligible Jetstar codes.

If you can, there would be some good status run's to be had ... eg Hanoi-Danang approx $60AUD .... for 20 status credits, at $3/SC pretty good.

You'd be best off asking QANTAS Frequent Flyer directly.

Jetstar Pacific Airlines have only been around (as a Jetstar airline) since 23 May 2008, so they may have not updated the documentation / websites.

According to the on-line terms and conditions of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program (airline earning table), Jetstar (JQ), Jetstar Asia (3K) and ValueAir (VF) all earn Qantas FF points when using a JetFlex fare. No mention is made of Jetstar Pacific or Pacific Airlines, so there is no reason to expect any Qantas FF benefits when using this airline.

Yes, yes, all very true and correct, and that was my read of it as well. However they b##y well shouldn't indicate on the Jetstar Pacific website as JetFlex fares earning QF FF points. I suspect this may be a legacy of using the same IT infratructure as for JQ, 3K & VF bookings, but they should fix it. Either that or they haven't updated the QF T&C, which I doubt.

Actually answered my own question, the JQ website has in the fine print "^ Qantas Frequent Flyers travelling on a Jetstar (JQ) JetFlex ... will earn equivalent points ..." but no mention of 3K or VF, which in itself contradicts the QF FF website!!

3K and VF have only recently been added to the T&Cs - they previously did not earns SCs and there are still some inconcistencies from when they didn't earn.

On BL, no idea but would note Qantas only has 18% shareholding, unlike the 3K/VF 43-35% shareholding via Orangestar
