Ok jetstar have released their Mel Xmas , New year flights to Hnl.....departing jan 4...seat is $619 and the usual plus change bundle which is $55 is $735 one way.

Surely it's a glitch in the system..but with Jetstar it wouldn't surprise me if they would be charging $735. Seriously think they need competition on the Mel- Hnl direct leg!

Would you "Enjoy the extras and save a bundle" pay $735- I don't think so.

Been documented in here numerous times, not a glitch.

Generally the total price (fare+bundle) never changes very much, so when the fare goes down (because of a sale), the bundle price goes up to compensate.

Yep....changed my dates...same thing$619 for seat....then add $755 for the bundle....so just took the seat- no bundle-change fee is $50 plus fare difference.Thats fine. Booked and paid- went back and now that same leg is $1200+ and the bundle back to $55. So yes I paid for my meal and a $7 seat selection but figure I'm $700 ahead. Geeze they need some competition on that route.

We had that issue when booking our flights to HNL also but when I scrolled down the price difference was because for some reason upon selecting the bundle it would also ad in luggage costs. I simply removed the luggage to get the correct price - ie starter fare price plus bundle cost only. This might be what is happening to you also??
