here's something I have noticed over the last 5 JQ Flights I have taken...

If I use self check - enter my QF FF number, get a BP, wander up and check my luggage, change my seat if necessary, my SC's and FF points arrive in my account within a few days....:!:

If I check in at the counter - I can wait for weeks (months even) for them to show up :shock:

My last 5 flights (AVV/SYD, SYD/Gold Coast/ Gold Coast/MEL / AVV/SYD and SYD/Gold Coast) have credited (the last flight being Monday 6th!)

I am still waiting on 2 or 3 AVV/SYD/AVV flights that are past the 5 week wait now!

Has anyone else noticed this?

Mr!

:shock:

I'll update in early August as I next fly with them at the end of July. I'll use self-check if I remember too.

these 5 week to months timeframes that the OP speaks of, is this when you use the "claim missing points" link or is it when you just wait for them to credit it?

I don't fly Jetstar often (maybe 3-4 times a year) but when I do my points are never automatically credited to my account.

I always check in online, and I have a less common title on my QFF account (ie, not MR) but my Jetstar bookings are always MR. This is my theory of why they don't credit.

I don't bother waiting anymore, 3 days after a Jetstar flight I put the claim in and I usually have the points within a few days.

I have never used OLCI, so can't comment, but it is true what I say about the Quickcheck - it does my head in that this happens...

so whats everyones experience with "claim missing points" for jetstar flights. I'm waiting for 30 sc's to take me into gold status and its been a week (i know it says 14 days for partner airlines but i'm impatient) :)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Out of a sample size of 2 Jetstar flights, my research has shown the following:

100% of FF points & status credits from Jetstar flights post within 24 hours (Qantas currently taking 48 hours to post from QF flights);

100% of Jetstar flights depart 30 minutes late;

50% of Jetstar planes are already filthy when you board;

it is possible to request in advance a decent seat allocation on 100% of Jetstar flights.

:D

My experince is that if JQ points do not post within a week they (generally) won't post with your input.

I get in the habit of waiting 3 working days and if the points had not posted, to put in a claim using the online facility.

Of my 4 Jetstar flights:

1) All points and SC post within 48 hours
2) 25% depart 30 minutes late, 25% depart 4 hours late, and 50% depart on time
3) They've all been fairly clean for me.

How do you book your flights? Internet yourself or does a TA do them for you?

Mr!

:shock:

All my Jetstar flights I have booked myself on the Internet.

TA booked domestic flights have been Qantas, Rex and Virgin Blue.

I've now waited 15 days since I lodged the claim for missing points and 21 days since the flight, should I call them up or wait out the full 14 working days they say it takes?

That is strange. On QF/JQ I get a resonse that day or next day when doing a missing/incorrect posting of points.

I would claim now.

I had problems in the past with some transactions. Took a couple of months to get it fixed with emails going back & forth. Everyone was very good about it but it did take a while to correct.

As an update on my flights. Activity was recorded in my account within a few days of each flight. I checked in online for both.

I had to phone Qantas up about the status credit promotion (got through to a desk straight away), and they told me that a program is run once a month to update the status credits for anyone registered on the promotion. So I might not see my SC's posted till the end of August, but they will be posted.

I just got back from Honolulu with hubby. We both flew Star Class with Jet Star. On both legs we checked in at the counter. Points were posted to our respective QFF Accounts within a couple of days.

Have to say.... if you are vegetarian eat before you fly! Jetstar's idea of catering to a vegetarian is to give them uh... just vegetables basically. I don't like many vegetables.

munitalP,

I've also noticed something like you explained btu I was never sure exacly what the issue was.

Sometimes I have used the OLCI and my FF number is certainly on the booking. Other times I have checked in at the desk and they have manually added my FF number.

Sometimes my points are credited within 3 or so days. Other times I have to use the claim missing points function - when I have to use this method it can take up to 6 weeks for the points to come through.

In the end I havent really given it a lot of thought as i have always recieved the points eventually. It is JetStar so I guess we have to be a little more patient! :D
