Hello travellers,

In my quest to avoid Jetstar like the plague I have encountered a few tricky situations i.e.

- Travelling to Bali via Darwin I went with Qantas to Darwin, then of course had to travel with c**pstar to Bali, so just limited my luggage.

- Now in attempting to travel to Brazil from the Gold Coast there is very few QF flights that I can connect with from Sydney, so will go down to Sydney with Qantas the previous day rather than travel with the silver and orange metal.

If it does happen that they beat me all together and get rid of all QF flights from the Gold Coast, how will I transfer from that other terminal to the international terminal?

Any thoughts, ideas appreciated please.

Cheers,

Given QF has only just reintroduced flights to OOL, I don't see them disappearing.

At SYD if ineligible for the QF transfer bus (ie coming down on VA or JQ), you can take the train ($5) or regular 400 bus (about $2) from the domestic terminals.

Assume you are trying to connect to QF27 to SCL which departs at 1055

moa999,

Yes QF27 it is. The weird thing as well is that any benefits with any of the different tier levels with the QFF program regarding luggage all disapear when you do the Silver Orange cross over to a Qantas flight as well.

...,, how will I transfer from that other terminal to the international terminal?
Am 95% sure you can check in for QF international flights at the QF domestic terminal. If you have a QFi ticket you can use the QF Dom airside to QFi landside bus. Alternatively if your baggage in OK thru QFd security, you can use the QF bus. Otherwise pay $ as above for a public transport

Apart from ownership, the ability to redeem flights, the ability to earn on (some limited) flights, and lounge access,
JQ is very much run as a separate entity and its low cost ethos pervades everything - you want status, priority boarding, better seats etc... you pay for it.

On the transfer Mwenenzi is correct, you can actually use the Qantas transfer service from T3.
Transferring from T2 and T3 (Domestic Airports) to T1 (International Airport):

The Transfer Lounge is located airside (after passing through the security check point), at Gate 15 in T3. A shuttle bus service is available to passengers that are travelling or have travelled on a Qantas flight (including codeshare flights) or oneworld flight. The shuttle buses operate every 10-20 minutes from 6am to 9.40pm AEST. On arrival at T1 proceed up the escalator, through immigration and security to your departure gate.
However if travelling JQ/VA that means leaving T2, crossing the carpark, going back thru security into T3, then going to the Transfer Lounge.
The bus/train may be simpler.
