Jetstar Website a joke

I just attempted to book a Sydney Melbourne Jetstar flight on the new website. All went fine until payment when it would not accept a Jetstar Mastercard. Brilliant, a new website that does not work for your own credit card customers. It would not accept a 3 digit CVV number which is the limit on Visa and Mastercards.

On the phone I go and spend 20 minutes booking the flights. When I asked about the website I was told there were problems with it and they hoped to have them resolved within a week.

I dont know much about this but I would have thought that the most important part for qantas would have been the payments end of the system and some thorough testing would have taken place before going live maybe even with a Jetstar Mastercard.

By the way I did not get charged the booking fee and was given an extra legroom seat.

it looks as if it has all turned out in the end, though perhaps a little inconvienant having to phone the call centre:o.

Another quick (possible) issue with the Jetstar website (and a lot of frustration with cough call centre staff)

Recently (before new fare types) paid $99 each way for MEL-PER return in August on JetSaver Light. After booking and service fee and seat fee, total was $216.99.

Now looking to change these to a week later (flights show up on jetstar.com as $139 each way for a new booking)

Given the $40 change fee, by my reckoning the total to be paid is 2*(139 + 40 - 99) (ignoring any extras)

When I attempt the online change, the flights show up as $179 (not $139) and then in addition an $80 change fee is added to the booking total.

Not sure if this is an error or if i've overlooked something... Not sure why the flights are $40 extra each AND an $80 change fee is added.

When I called Jetstar with the booking open, the rude and unhelpful CSR insisted that my original booking was in fact $179 (as I must have already made the change but not paid it) and just wanted me to do the change over the phone with him. He didn't understand or try to understand my question.

Any help is much appreciated... I assume i'm missing something. Screenshots are attached

For the change fee, look up your original T&C. The current T&C for Starter fares is $40 per flight (from the Jetstar website):

Change Fees and Fare DifferenceChange Fee applies per passenger, per flight. Fees are subject to change and are applied at the rate current at time of change. For current fees see Jetstar.com - planning and booking – fare information.
