I was going to start this thread, but then when I tried to click the "Book" button, it gives me a 404!

Having booked one of these routes about 9 days ago I'm swearing big time. But also trying convince myself that if I had of waited there would have been no seats when I need them.

Thanks for the links thewinchester ...much appreciated :)

Booked tickets, took 20 min on hold. Is it correct that the 120 sc is one way? so a rtn will be 240 sc?

Well, half good news (or is it half bad news) checked this morning and I can only get the sale fare on my return leg. So I only half ripped myself off by not waiting.

Yes, 120SC is one way from either CNS or OOL. SC reference table can be found at:
Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Status Credits

To calculate the distance, use Great Circle Mapper.

Or just use Mileage monkey's one world explorer section with the ignore errors option box ticked:

This is probably the cheapest you will get *class Gold Coast to Osaka. We travel there every year in Nov. Our business doesn't allow us to travel May / June. Also it's starting to get quite humid then. We got *class today on special in Nov. for $899, normally $1,250.00

Just returned from Japan using these sale fares OOL-NRT. Interestingly it was cheaper to book OOL-NRT and then NRT-OOL as 2 one ways, the YEN price for the way back was quite a bit cheaper once converted.

120 SC already credited for the trip over. Still waiting for the trip back to credit. Starclass about 2/3 full on the way over. 1/2 full on the way back.

Asked at check-in about ODU prices. Apparently are currently $299 OOL-NRT but was told they would soon go down to $199. On questioning whether they are being sold ex NRT again (they stopped for quite a while, some Govt regulation) was told that they are being sold ex Japan again. Saw the little placard inviting you to pay for an upgrade (no price) at the check-in counters at NRT on the trip home.

For the price this is a decent product. Pretty comfy seats, light loadings, food ok, drinks included. Going out of OOL is a pain but still worth it as long as the Starclass price is right or upgrades are available at a fairly cheap price.

Cheers
