Sydney - Tokyo sale fares only available on JQ 19/11, JQ 12/20.

Hmm. What was the latest cost for an upgrade to star class at the counter?

I'm wondering about booking super cheap flight, then upgrading on the day.

How many SCs do you get on a trip to Japan from Sydney,

AnatO1 maybe able to make Plat with those specials and he doesn't need to go to the US.

140 SCs in *class.

If you start from Sydney, with 2 different flight numbers then would it be 140 + 40 = 180 x 2(return trip) x 2 trips = 720 SCs. = $4,000.00 hmm; just a little expensive. :(

Was just thinking about that too! Add my current business travel and one return SYD/KIX in *C plus one return SYD/AKL in LAN D is very close to 1st time WP.

The SC rate isn't so bad - very close to what BNE-SYD used to be. Of course, not as great as doing US YUPP runs, but that's a whole different ball game (need to factor in positioning flights).

SYD-KIX is 140 SC - it is the longest sector on sale and it just surpasses the minimum mileage for its Zone category. Strongly thinking about it! If only my PhD confirmation was not in February..... (but that could be pushed back...... :) :-|)

Then we also get back to that "To WP or not to WP" thread I had on FT...

First Flight only had 200 passengers, from Osaka...Not the best start....
Is this flight a Daily service to Osaka?, because I cant see it overperforming like D7 has done, I can see Toyko going well though...

Now, I'm assuming that I was the only idiot that thought that it was $999 RETURN from Sydney to Tokyo. Cos it ain't, that's a one way fare (of $999) only. Thought it was too good to be true.

"Hello Australian sailor, I love you no cough, buy me yellow helicopter". Now where have I heard that before?

I feel like a bloody idiot.

 What's the worse that happened? You got to the confirmation page and realised that it was double what you expected and didn't go through? You told every man, woman, child, dog and cat and then they found out the truth and you got mildly ostracized about it?

No big deal. (No pun intended.)

Still, at the prices they were headlining (both Y and *C) that's a good deal. Just have to be super careful because the *C offered is Promotional, which is very much more restricted than normal *C.

Beats me. Sounds like a line from a weird R&B song (possibly a cover album).
