Hi all.

I have ticket from MEL-NRT and returning from ICN-SYD-MEL.

Now I'm looking for a Classic Reward flight between Tokyo (HND/NRT) and Seoul (ICN/GMP) between 1-5 JAN 2025 but there seems to be nothing (see screenshot). Is there a different way I can search for this? Or would availability be opened up later in the year?

Being a Platinum doesn't help, does it? It's not like I can call JL and ask to open reward seat?

Thank you.

Being WP doesn't help as it's only Qantas can release their own tickets.

As for the timing I imagine its just hyper peak travel for JP -KR. New years is a major holiday in Japan (Christmas isn't even a holiday, just a commercial event to sell people things).

That week is a busy travel period in both Japan and Korea.
It's the last week of school holidays before the final term of the Japanese school year and shortly after the college entry exams for many students.

You may be better off booking a revenue ticket before the prices go up.

Think you should just cough up for paid seats. I see $300ish in Y and even $569 in J on OZ on jan 4 for example. Probably the easiest option than chasing reward seats at a peak demand time imo.

Makes sense.

It looks like flights between KIX-ICN on Asiana are the lowest compared to other combinations.

Thanks everyone!

@kamb1ng It is possible as of this year. Flight occured 4 days before the HND january incident. Luckily the award availability came up same day as I was having trouble leaving tokyo otherwise I would have been stuck there until T minus 0 since all the low budget carriers cost more than the full service airlines. Narrowly missed the 0102 japanese earthquake by 2 days too.
