I am about to book a classic reward with an evening domestic JQ in Y in Australia, with an overnight stay before a morning International JQ in J to Japan
1. Will I get the Y baggage allowance (first flight), or the J baggage allowance (second flight, connecting overnight with less than 24h).

2. Will my baggage be checked through? My understanding is no, according to https://www.jetstar.com/au/en/help/articles/baggage-transfers

Assuming this is all one ticket, I would expect the most significant carrier rule comes into play and you'll get the JQ J allowance.

Your bags won't be checked through.

Edit: sorry I got confused by the title and thought you were QF->JQ...

I booked, got the e-ticket, and the baggage allowance is not crystal clear.

- The e-ticket pdf does not contain the usual luggage table, no baggage information.
- Qantas MMB indicate 2 pieces per pax for all flights, no weight indication
- Jetstar MMB via the mobile (can't load the booking via the web app) indicate that I have 0kg on both D and I legs.
- This link https://www.qantas.com/au/en/book-a-trip/flights/your-jetstar-experience.html#economy indicate I would have 23kg for the D, and 30kg for the I, and yea it feels like 30 kg should be the overall allowance. This is in line with the luggage table that is usually printed on the e-ticket pdf.

Interestingly, Qantas MMB indicate 1 piece for my lap infant. I though lap infant normally got no checking allowance, except the infant items (trolley, car seats, cot...). Not sure I should trust this 1 piece.
