I have found a few flights on the JQ website, which show as JQ6416 for example.

Starclass is available at $275

This flight departs from the domestic terminal and is on QF metal.

So I assume you would be in J on QF and therfore earn J status credits?

It's cheaper than the $329 *Class fares on JQ which leave from the international terminal.

Thoughts

If you paid for starclass then you'd get J SC's for sure. And in QF J sounds even better. Where do these domestic flights go to?

As samh004 mentioned, Starclass fares credit as J status credits regardless of the metal they're on. If you're actually flying in QF J though - bonus! $275 is a great price. :)

Cheers,
- Febs.

I do remember some of the StarClass promo emails mentioning these flights:

Brisbane to Honolulu via Sydney on JQ6000 series flights (Qantas operated) in Business class

Brisbane to Bali (Denpasar) via Melbourne or Sydney on JQ6000 series flights (Qantas operated) in Business class

So unless there's been a recent policy change, they should be QF J. One could always ring and ask, I've found their call centre surprisingly okay. I was under the assumption you couldn't book such sectors individually. I should really play with the JQ site more often.

I don't think they should be there, but couldn't find them...
[and then straight after I posted, I did find some example dates! ]

Strangely, Jetstar's IT system seems to be using American date format. Here's the sample date I'm shown for Dec 8:

It is a system error or scheduling error with these flights on there, it is a QF flight under a JQ code, and for the starclass seat you DO travel in QF J.
I've done a few of these in the past when they had them on there. It's not mean to be on there just due to the fact JQ would be undercutting !F by a few hundred dollars on their business seats..

So yes it is an error, but yes you can still book and travel on QF at JQ prices! Just after you book though, give the call centre a call and ask them for the QF reservation number. Give QF a call and add it to your FF booked flights page!

Interesting....

I have booked a few flights and we'll see what happens.

It is hard enough to find the JQ Starclass seats on MEL-SYD-MEL on JQ metal let alone the QF branded ones.....

Let us know if they honour them, clearly its a mistake. But a very good mistake

Whats the earliest date anyone has found to travel on? Searched the other day and saw only May 2010.
