JQ Lithium Battery Policy

Any good people here know what limits apply to JQ checked baggage in relation to Lithium batteries?

Have a tradey wanting to go MEL-SYD morrow with an electric drill with batt capacity 10.8V 1.5Ah 16.2Wh - allowable does anybody know?

Dangerous Goods must not be carried in (or as) checked baggage or carry-on baggage, except as indicated in the Qantas guide to dangerous goods table.


The following items are totally forbidden:


Security type attaché cases incorporating Dangerous Goods, such as lithium batteries or pyrotechnic devices
Disabling devices such as mace or pepper spray, which contain an irritant or incapacitating substance

Well the young lady I spoke to in Manila gave no such advice re following QF nor did she provide link - she did keep referring back to 'Carry On' which was not my inquiry - I specifically asked where to find info on JQ web site re 'Checked Luggage' - she could not answer that.
